During the 1st shutdown, I had an opportunity to experiment with this line, as well as other well-known competitors, however this one really won me over. Aside from being a clean product, some of my other biggest concerns were: Environmental Impact: Innersense is a ... Certified Green company and Compact signer of both Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and Truth in Labeling Acts. They actively participate in social and environmental sustainability and are constantly working to bring the best products to our community. Quality of Product: NEVER ANY Sulfates, SLS, SLES, Betaines or sulfate derivatives such as sodium lauryl sulfinates Petroleum compounds: resins, silicones or plastics PEG, DEA, MEA, TEA, or EDTA compounds Phthalates (tha-lates) Ethoxylates GMOs, glutens and parabens Artificial color and fragrance Performance: As I have a diverse clientele with equally diverse hair types, textures and needs. I really appreciate the broad range of hair types this line is designed for. Price-Point: Just as I want to remain accessible, I would only want to bring in products that my clients could realistically maintain to afford considering how much hair you all have! You know who you are...lol. I wanted amazing product performance without the prestigious labels. Innersense is a small company and there is much to appreciate. Much like the Eminence Skincare I work with, this line also focuses on ingredients, not paid celebs. Scent: I think the importance of scent is deeply rooted in my background as an esthetician. No two people are the same, and neither are our taste or distate for super floral scents. (Keep Jasmine & lilies AWAY from me!) Living your truth can sometimes bring about a storm of fear within the units you’ve always perceived as family & friends, but always remember, you’ll get your rainbow at the end of a storm. *From my own personal experience, I lost friends, and even a relationship with my own father, which was so fucking crippling, upon coming out & standing up for the love I knew I wholehe...artedly deserved. It took years for me to feel comfortable admitting to myself that I DESERVE joy. I DESERVE peace. I DESERVE to live my truth & explore my potential to create my own functional happy family. It’s taken yeeeeears of patience and support from @mon_cerdamadrigal , as well as family and my amazing therapist to break generational traumas. It’s not selfish to put yourself before others when your life & your well being depends on it. You’re the creator of your life, don’t let outside pressures, perceptions & fears derail you from your potential to be happy and at ease. I lost some family, I lost some friends, and I feared for my career as an esthetician because I worked in Clovis at the time and literally touched women (90% of time) for a living. Lol. It’s far from easy, and it may take years to get there...but when you do...ain’t nobody gonna stop that phoenix within you, hunny.
