Queen Dilly Dallys Royal Variety Show

STORY TIME! HOW DID QUEEN DILLY DALLY COME TO LIFE?? Its funny.. as a lifelong fan of Queen Elizabeth ii.. I'd say around 2010, I photoshopped my face onto t...he Queens just for fun - I made kinda stamps out of them and sent them to friends... when I mailed one to friends in UK (an older couple) the husband did not even realize it was me and said to his wife "EH, does the Queen look off here?".... I love that... well.. my best friend, my Grandma died and left ME out of her daughters and granddaughters.. all of her costume jewelry... and with that I was unsure what to do.. I was bored with life in Boston and I sat at my desk... I looked up from the jewelry and there on my cork board was the picture of me as the Queen.. to the right of it was a card that said "I suffer from A.D.D. = Always Dilly Dallying" I always loved that word.. and right then and there I called my mom and I said... "what do you think about me creating a character about a Queen of Make Believe called Queen Dilly Dally"... she replied, "I love it and so would Grandma"... and thats how QDD was born.. the photos below are the inspiration photo.. and my VERY FIRST time trying out the character with a bed sheet at home! Fast forward a year and I left my career in education,my whole life of family and friends back in Boston.. took 2 suitcases WEST to San Francisco.. one for me, one for the queen.... NOW MIND YOU.. I was 33 and never had done theatre or even CONSIDERED doing DRAG... talk about a LEAP OF FAITH!!! anddddddd the rest is HERstory... 7 amazing years later!
