Project Bike Tech 07.07.2021

We were at the new pump track at Ramsey Park. These are level two students Chase, Bryan and Mr. Holguin. They were having a an event for young ladies to learn how to ride pump track, as well basic bike maintenance how to put a inner tube in a tire onto a rim. We volunteered to help work on community bicycles. We had a good mechanic day, feels good to give back to the community!

Project Bike Tech 01.06.2021

This is a Bike Tech one student. He broke his Bolt to his chain ring and so he came to mr. H to save him I was able to remove the broken bolt safely that way yo...u don't have to buy a brand new pedal arm. He also learned oxidation on metals because of the saltwater in the air. I will teach them how to properly maintenance his bike little bike tricks that I teach my students that way they can properly maintaining keep the maintenance of the bike parts up this is called critical thinking. Now the student is without instructions is replacing the right pedal back into the right through alarm. Eduardo was so happy that the bolt I was able to extract it, what's a common tool we have in our household everyday that people don't even think about extracting bolts with. This is the first time Eduardo has been in the bike rack and he walked in with awe he will be returning when his BMX chainring comes in that way he can install it and I'm going to guide them in he's going to be using this for his profolio. #bicishack #projectbiketech #pvbiketech1 #biketechinschool See more

This was back on February 20th, Bike Tech 2 students doing the work-based learning at the Bike Shack. These Bike Tech students are volunteering their time to get these kids bikes up and running also take an inventory to see what's broken and what is fixable this is the kind of training they get one coming through Project Tech program collaboration with the Bike Shack. On this day Bike Tech to students worked on 15 bicycles, these bicycles will be donated to little kids in our community here in Watsonville. My students are learning how it is to give back to the community also put their skills to work advancing the mechanic work outside of the classroom getting real life experience inside a bicycle co-op shop.
