INGREDIENTS: 1 lb. ground beef 14 cup flour... 1 tablespoon chili powder 1 teaspoon paprika 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes 12 cup water Oil, for deep-frying Sour cream Shredded lettuce Shredded cheddar cheese/Monterey jack cheese Diced tomato DIRECTIONS: 1. Mix dried onion with water in a small bowl and let stand for five minutes. 2. Combine ground beef, flour, chili powder, paprika, and salt; Mix well 3. Add onions and water and mix again. 4. In a skillet, cook beef mixture until browned. 5. Stir often while cooking so no large chunks form; it should be more like a paste. 6. Remove from heat and keep warm. 7. Ingredients 4 PF Bakeries Whole Wheat pita bread pockets 1/2 cup basil 1/3 cup Greek yogurt 6 eggs... 1 Tbsp. garlic 1 Tbsp. olive oil 6 strips bacon, chopped 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 cup feta cheese 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, cut into fourths 1/4 lemon to squeeze on top Instructions Whisk together in a medium bowl the eggs, yogurt, salt, and pepper. Heat frying pan on medium heat. When hot, add the oil. Add the garlic, sauté until slightly golden. Add bacon and cook fully. Reduce heat to medium/low. (Drain grease if you need to.) Add egg mixture. Allow eggs to cook slowly on low heat, stirring often. When eggs are cooked, remove from heat. Squeeze 1/4 lemon over the eggs and sprinkle the feta, basil, and tomatoes on top. Cut Pita pockets in half and toast lightly in toaster. Ingredients 1 onion 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil pinch salt... 2 PF Bakeries pitas 1/4 cup drained sliced sundried tomatoes 3.5 oz sharp white cheddar cheese extra virgin olive oil Instructions Cut the onion in half through the end, then peel off the outer layers. Slice into 1/4 strips. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet and add the onion. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until translucent but not browned. Turn the heat down to medium-low and cook, stirring every few minutes or so, for about 1 hour. When finished, they should be nicely golden all around. Lower the heat to avoid burning, if necessary. Cut the pitas in half, then carefully separate the layers into a pocket. Place 1 Tbsp sundried tomatoes in a pocket and spread them about evenly. Add 1/4 of the onions, then add a couple slices of cheese (you kind of have to stuff everything in there). Repeat for the remaining pockets. Once stuffed, brush a bit of olive oil over the top of each pita. Heat a griddle (or just a pan, if that is all you have) over medium heat. Place the pitas oiled-side down and let cook until lightly charred and the cheese begins to melt. Brush the top of each pita with olive oil, then flip and continue cooking until the cheese is very melty and the pita is lightly charred. Ingredients 1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro plus more for garnish salt and black pepper... 4 pieces of PF Bakeries whole wheat pita 4 strips of bacon cooked until crisp and chopped 4 eggs fried, poached or scrambled 1 large avocado pitted and sliced hot sauce optional Instructions Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper, foil or silicone baking mat. Set aside. In a small bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, mozzarella, chopped cilantro and a dash of salt and pepper to taste. Smear the cheese mixture onto the 4 pieces of pita bread. Place in the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the cheese is melty and the pita begins to crisp up. Remove from heat. Sprinkle on the bacon and place the egg on top. Ingredients CINNAMON & SUGAR MIXTURE 2 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp... cinnamon STUFFING MIXTURE 5 oz Greek yogurt, vanilla flavored 4 medium strawberries, sliced 1 small banana, sliced 1/2 small apple (I use peeled granny smith) diced 10 grapes, sliced in half 4 tsp sliced almonds, toasted PITA 2 PF Bakeries whole wheat pita pockets, cut in half and split open for stuffing 2 tsp butter or olive oil Instructions Heat a cast iron griddle or any skillet over medium-low heat.Mix the cinnamon & sugar two together in a small dish. Butter/oil both sides of the 4 pitas pieces. Sprinkle each side with 1/4 tsp of the cinnamon mixture. Place all 4 pitas on pre-heated griddle/skillet. Cook until nicely browned, about 3-5 mins. Then flip to the other side and repeat. While pitas are browning/toasting, clean and slice all the fruits. Add to a bowl, mix until well combined. Let the pitas cool and then spread 1-2 tablespoons of the Greek yogurt inside the pita. Easy Breakfast Pita Pizzas Serves: 3 pizzas Ingredients 3 PF Bakeries whole wheat pitas... cup ricotta cheese (part-skim or whole) 3-4 TBS salsa, plus extra for serving onion, chopped coarse and cooked until soft 5 eggs, scrambled 4-6 slices of bacon, cooked Shredded cheese of choice for topping Fresh sliced avocado, optional for serving Instructions Pre-heat oven to 400F. In a small bowl, mix together ricotta and salsa. You can add more or less of either ingredient to reach desired texture or taste. Arrange bare pitas on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes until just starting to crisp (don't let them get too brown). Remove pitas from oven and top with ricotta and salsa mixture, onions, eggs, bacon, and shredded cheese. Return to the oven for an additional 8-10 minutes or until cheese has melted. Greek Chickpea Salad Pitas INGREDIENTS 2 tablespoons olive oil 3 teaspoons red wine vinegar... 1 teaspoon dijon mustard 2 (15 oz) cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed (or 3 cups) 1/3 cup sliced kalamata olives 1/2 cup diced tomato, I used cherry tomatoes 1/2 cup diced cucumber 1/4 cup diced red onion 1 tablespoon chopped parsley Salt and pepper, to taste 4 pieces of PF Bakeries pita bread, cut in half Lettuce leaves, if desired INSTRUCTIONS In a large bowl, whisk together the olive, vinegar and mustard. Add in the chickpeas and use a fork or potato masher to mash them up. Next, add in all the remaining ingredients, mix until combined and season to taste with salt and pepper. Add a few lettuce leaves to each pita and fill with 1/2 cup of the chickpea salad mixture. Recipe makes 8 half pita sandwiches. A serving size can either be one half pita or two half pitas, depending on how hungry you are. Spinach and Cheese Breadcrumb Dumplings Yield: serves 3 to 4 Time: 1 hour... Ingredients 1 tsp. kosher salt, plus more 8 oz. baby spinach 1 12 cups PF Bakeries breadcrumbs in original or seasoned 1 cup grated parmesan cheese, plus more to garnish 12 cup ricotta cheese 14 cup olive oil 1 egg, lightly beaten All-purpose flour, for dusting 6 oz. taleggio cheese 3 tbsp. unsalted butter 12 fresh sage leaves 1 12 tbsp. balsamic vinegar Instructions Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spinach and cook until just wilted, 1 to 2 minutes. Drain spinach, then plunge into a bowl of ice water. Drain spinach, squeezing out any water, and finely chop. In a large bowl, mix the spinach with the 1 teaspoon of salt, the bread crumbs, parmesan, ricotta, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and the egg until evenly combined. Divide the dough into 14 balls. Working with 1 ball of dough at a time, flatten the ball in the palm of your hand. Add 2 teaspoons of taleggio and wrap the dough around the cheese. Dust each ball with flour and place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Freeze dough for 45 minutes. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Working in 2 batches, add the dumplings to the water and cook until they float, about 5 to 7 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer dumplings to a plate. Save 13 cup pasta water. Meanwhile, heat remaining 3 tablespoons oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high. Add dumplings and cook, turning as needed, until golden, about 6 minutes. Add the butter and sage and cook, basting the dumplings, 2 minutes longer. Transfer the dumplings to a serving platter and add the reserved pasta water and the vinegar to the skillet. Bring it to a boil and reduce the sauce by half, about 8 minutes. Ingredients For the Fried Potatoes: 3 Russet potatoes, medium size washed, peeled and cut into medium-size cubes cup chopped onion teaspoon salt teaspoon ground black pepper cup canola oil or more depending on the size of the pan For the Scrambled Eggs: 4 eggs 1 tablespoon milk 3 dashes salt 3 dashes ground black pepper 2 teaspoons butter For the Breakfast Burrito Pitas: 2 PF Bakeries pita pocket bread 1 cup refried beans canned 1/2 package (8 ounces; entire package is 16 ounces) Jimmy Dean Sage breakfast sausage thoroughly cooked in small pieces Scrambled eggs 1 cup salsa Fried potatoes 1-1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese Instructions For the Fried Potatoes: In a large bowl, add the potatoes, onions, salt and pepper. Stir until the potatoes are coated with the salt and pepper. Heat a skillet on medium heat and add canola oil. To the pan, add the potato and onion mixture. Stir as the potatoes cook. Continue cooking until the potatoes are tender and lightly browned (about 20 minutes). After the fried potatoes are cooked, transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any residual oil. Set aside. For the Scrambled Eggs: In a medium size bowl, add the eggs, milk, salt and pepper. Whisk together. Heat a medium size skillet on medium heat. Add butter. When it melts add the eggs. Stir the eggs with a spatula as they cook. Let cook until the eggs are thoroughly cooked (about 5 minutes). Set aside. For the Breakfast Burrito Pitas: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Cut each PF Bakeries pita pocket in half and gently open them up. Set the PF Bakeries pita pockets upright in a small casserole dish, shallow oven-safe bowl, or bread loaf pan with the pitas leaning up against one another if necessary. Using a spatula or dinner knife gently spread the refried beans on the inside of each pita pocket. To the pita pockets, add cooked sausage, scrambled eggs, salsa, fried potatoes, and shredded cheese. Bake in the oven until the cheese melts.
