California voters, the Realtors have a very strong lobby, however dealing with a Democratic controlled legislature is lunacy!! Our lobby is ALWAYS about home/property owners rights AND especially trying to preserve Prop 13 (circa 1978). So here is Calif. Assoc. of Realtors position on these 3 propostions. Props. 15 & 21 vote NO!! Propostion 19 YES. (This will allow you to transfer your property tax basis to ANY county in the state of California. Currently ONLY 11 reciprocate.... Here is information regarding Proposition 19 from my broker: Prop 19 Intergenerational Transfer Question Resources. Next, there was some discussion about how to answer voters’ concerns about Prop 19 and the intergenerational transfer. As was discussed by Sanjay and others, the state’s Legislative Analyst’s Office (LAO) had previously identified making these changes as a potential revenue source for the state. It should be noted that if Prop 19 doesn’t pass, the Legislature will likely be looking closely at this to address what could be a large budget shortfall. John Wong sent along links to the LAO report and a video that he shared that showcased this as a possible revenue source. Look for the Democratic controlled legislature to most probably eliminate intergeneration tax transfers.
