Thanks to Robert Handa and NBC Bay Area for covering SF Japantown's efforts to repair and renovate the Peace Plaza. Some might not know the plaza's connection to past racist efforts to remove Japanese Americans and African Americans from the City's Western Addition. Prop A provides us with an opportunity for a small measure of restitution for the 2nd forced removal of SF Japantown. Check out JCYC Executive Director, Jon Osaki's, interview with Robert Handa below. #YesOnPropASF

Thanks to funds raised through JCYC's SF Aloha Run for Black Lives, JCYC will award $35,000 in academic scholarships during the Spring of 2021! These scholarship awards will prioritize youth from JCYC programs who reside in low-income households and will be the first generation from their families to attend college. Please stay tuned for our scholarship winners announcement next Spring!
