In three recent studies, the use of Prolacta’s fortifiers as part of an Exclusive Human Milk Diet (EHMD) led to statistically significant decreases in bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) (weighted average of 9.7%) among premature infants compared to those fed cow milkbased fortifiers. Learn more about how an EHMD may help decrease BPD in premature infants by downloading our BPD fact sheet. https://hubs.ly/H0DR9TP0

Dr Amy Hair, Texas Children’s Hospital, presented a case study at #ICHMSI 2020 in which a premature infant born with mild lung disease was given human milkbased fortifiers followed by human milkbased cream. These efforts supported caloric intake needs despite fluid restrictions. Weight, length, and head circumference growth were excellent while the infant improved clinically.
