Volunteers are a blessing This month we honor a longtime volunteer, Nita You can always see Nita on Monday’s at the front desk. She also volunteers for other shifts when needed. She loves her rescue dogs and often brings dog and cat food for other pets that come through our pantry. She knows the clients by name and greets everyone with a smile even under her mask . If you see Nita please be sure to say HELLO and THANKS.

Thank you Koppert Biological Systems Inc for volunteering in our pantry today!

Every week we donate our old vegetables, fruits and breads to a local pig farmer and today we were able to see one of the piggies that enjoys our food

Today is the best day!!! We have a volunteer who wanted to give back to Project Understanding because we give to him. John is Food Insecure without a permanent residence. He asked to volunteer and we gave him an application. He filled it out and we asked him to come back Thursday. John knocked on the door freshly showered and cleaned ready to work.....and boy he is working. Always nice to see people for what they are. Hard worker, trying, patient, kind and smiling and making a difference! Thanks John!

Meet Stephanie Stephanie started as a tutor at one of our sights. She loved the mission so much and believed strongly in the hand up NOT hand out approach that when her sight closed due to COVID she started to volunteer in the pantry. She has helped stock the shelves, welcoming the hungry and handing out the food etc etc. She is truly a blessing not only to Project Understanding but also to our clients. Thanks Stephanie for your passion and support for Project Understanding.

Thank you Downtown Rotary for your continued love and support for Project Understanding. You have stood alongside of us this entire pandemic and we can never thank you enough! Check presentations are very different these days but the support is the same!

Today we celebrated Marcus King as our very first Volunteer of the month. Marcus began volunteering with Project with his mom. His mom was able to finally go back to work and Marcus still wanted to be here to help! Marcus leaves his home an hour before he is to be at the pantry on his rollerblades. He arrives on time and works extremely hard for Project Understanding. We are honored to have Marcus on our TEAM. Please be sure to say congratulations if you see him. Our volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization.
