Rahul, the latest rooster will NOT stay in a kennel like other roosters..... nor in a corral. He will walk by Daddy when Daddy's doing chores. He even rides on the gator with Daddy to watch the goat and cow feeding ritual.

Which are the most declined animals in a farm sanctuary ? ***************** Roosters.....yet they are very sweet animals if a human spends time with them and bonds. PreetiRang's newest family member, Rahul, thinks he owns the whole place..... he followed Dad while he's doing chores..... he even entered the goat area..... Here he is soon after arrival .....

Early morning riots !! ********** Good morning, Just filed 2 complaints (FIRs). I have a riot on my hands. Hens want to go out ! Why is Ma waiting ? Wilma & Thelma were both sick with a cold. Thelma has been breathing with a gurgling sound for a long time and is on different medicines as prescribed by our Avian Vet. Wilma had a slight cold and is well now, having responded to treatment. Both have developed a bond; also it's still cold outside so to prevent a relapse, we are keeping Wilma with Thelma. They stay inside at night after getting medicines and go out in the morning after getting medicines. Today I was slightly delayed in taking them out. You can barely hear Wilma...... over the L-O-U-D non-stop complaining from Thelma.

Debbie (misnamed rooster) had cataract surgery y'day and follow-up appointment today **************** His cataract was removed but he didn't get new lenses as "they" don't make such tiny lenses. So his vision will improve gradually over 4 weeks. His view will be blurry but he will manage fine. In fact even with one eye, hens-roosters manage quite well. Your prayers, love, positive and healing energy are still needed ! Please be with him for 4 more weeks

While America (and the world) is stressing, these sweet beings are completely unaware of the problems of the world..... *********************** We are trying to herd the lambabies, Elizabeth and Rani, but 2 of the youngest cows, Hari and Harvey, are running and kicking their feet in joy. We have so much to learn from from them.... Harvey and Hari were rescued from a dairy in Santa Rosa at 10 and 45 days old. Now they are 4-5 years old..... but still kick their heels and run like children..... One of the lambabies is Elizabeth. She has Borders disease (neurological disease- she's blind now and her limbs will lack coordination as she ages) so the farmer couldn’t use her for breeding. He was going to shoot her the day after she was born. She’s been with us after her rescue. Rani, the other one, comes from another sheep farm in OR. Too many females were born. We took Rani and other sanctuaries took some. The rest were killed (slaughtered, gassed or plain starved). QUESTION: Can you guess which lambaby is blind ? CLUE: She seems fearless - unbothered by the HUGE calves !

Spooky Halloween ? NO Cutie Halloween ***************** Shanti, a sleek beautiful black cat, begs the question - WHY are black cats considered scary or bad luck ?

Pipe leaks have created tasty green patches for the rabbits..... ****************** .....otherwise they eat hen food. The rabbits are not rescues; they appear and disappear as they please.

Juvenile cataract ? ============= When Debbie arrived at PreetiRang she was estimated to be 14 weeks old. She was still "cheeping" then. According to that estimate, she's not even 6 months old and she has cataracts !!... Our avian vet suggested meeting an ophthalmologist vet who's booked solid until mid Nov. It's very heartbreaking she doesn't come running for treats anymore. She was feisty and loved treats. I try to feed her treats individually but she doesn't seem interested. Today she took some grapes..... Dad and Ma are both happy that baby girl showed some interest in grapes. Please hope for the best for this little girl at the ophthalmologist appointment.

Midday treats for the goats and Vyom (Tommy)

So there's been a change in pecking order, or eating order ! Jai has accepted Tulsi's power and retreated !

Misaimed midday snack *************** When Ma's arm hurts and she aims the food towards the mouth of the cows, it ends on the other end. You should have seen Tulsi trying to get the other cows off her back.... from eating off her back !

Doesn't he look like a majestic Egyptian Pharaoh ? *********** He was a 4-5 month old FFA or 4H high school project. Vegans of Davis rescued him and one of the original rescuers still sponsors him. He used to bleat a lot. As the youngest member of his group, he was shunted by the others during treat time. I used to smuggle out treats to him but he would smell them for a few seconds and start bleating......there came the bigger goats and pushed him away..... Now let anyone try that !!

Usually they stop playing on the ramp and start staring at our cameras..... not now !

Rani never used to come for pets unless we were petting Elizabeth..... nowadays, she approaches on her own ......
