Last week, one of our instructors, Allison Horak, had an interesting experience. After finishing up a day-long class on Grammar, a participant approached her, stating that she enjoyed the class. Having someone take the time on the way out of class to say something nice is always appreciated. But, it's what happened after that was so unusual. The participant then said, "I really mean it. This class has been life-changing! I've read a lot and taken so many classes, but nothing ...has ever stuck until now." Wow! What a humbling compliment. It's easy to forget that each of us, whether we're trainers, coaches, supervisors, whatever, have the chance to really make a difference in others' lives. What we might think as a mundane grammar refresher may be just what that person needs to get a promotion or be more effective at work. Remember: The work you do matters! Do it well and with enthusiasm. You are making a difference.
