A 55-Hour, Extended Closure of US Rte 101 Planned as Sixth Street Viaduct Arches Go Up Over Freeway The closure begins on Friday. April 30th at 10 p.m. and extends through Monday May 3rd at 5 a.m. The closure will center around the east side of the viaduct construction site in Boyle Heights, closing a 2.5-mile section of US Rte 101 from the 10/101 split to the 5/10/101 interchange just east of downtown Los Angeles. In addition, motorists traveling west on Rte 60 from the Pomona area will not be able to access US Rte 101.

The City of LA Proclaims April National Arab American Heritage Month On Today at 10:00 AM, the Los Angeles City Council will officially declare April as Arab American Heritage Month. Some individual states (such as the Commonwealth of Virginia) and 26 others observed April as Arab American Heritage Month early on before any federal recognition was proclaimed. It wasn't until April 19, 2021, that the first recognition on a federal level was issued, which was published as a Whi...te House letter from president Joe Biden recognizing April as the National Arab American Heritage Month, otherwise called NAAHM. On Wednesday, April 28th, the LA City Council will recognize Arab American Public Works Employees.
