Prince of Peace is thrilled to share that South Bay Summer Jazz Intensive will be offering their summer camp on the Prince of Peace campus again this summer! Taught by local professionals, this week-long experience has filled our campus with beautiful music for several years, but was cancelled last year due to the pandemic. The National Alliance on Mental Illness, NAMI Santa Clara County , recognized Prince of Peace as a mental-health friendly, stigma-free congregation this week. Some of the requirements met to earn this certificate include offering mental-health seminars, providing resources, and our pastors continued their education so they know when to refer someone for professional mental health support. Last weekend our synod elected a history-making Bishop. Prince of Peace is part of a nationwide church structure called the ELCA. The ELCA is the only "flavor" of Lutheran in the USA that ordains women and LGBTQIA identified people. We at PoP are also part of a synod (a word meaning walking together). Synods work to support local churches. The leader of a synod is a Bishop. They are an elected clergy person charged with inspiring churches, governing relationships, and adm...inistering resources.
