Paul Mitchell Schools proudly supports multiple charities, including the World Health Organization and Hair Aid, before, during and after Asian American and Pacific Islander month to create and support change within Asian and Pacific Island communities. These photos are from #PMTS Learning Leader, @ kylehammer's (IG) trip with Hair Aid, a global charity that teaches people in poverty how to cut hair and create a micro-business to support their families. Today is the day - #PMTSONE is here! Our first post features Sasha (@queenofrecreation on IG), a #PMTS alum who shared the rewarding experience she had at @pmtsogden while raising her two children. This is the most accomplished I’ve ever felt in my entire life. I did it! I made this happen for myself. During school, I gained a huge confidence boost that I will hold onto and share with the world forever. I’ve met some of the most talented people and have made amazing connections around my community with others in the industry who are all willing to mentor me towards an extensive satisfying career. We are so proud of your accomplishments and can’t wait to see where your career takes you, Sasha!

Today as part of our #PMTSONE series, we’re highlighting #PMTS Advanced Education Texture Team and @rkacademy team member, Bryant (@ dezignedbyb on IG), who recently used his strengths and the support of his community to help him conquer cancer. My recent battle with cancer was the first real test of my life and the first time I didn’t recognize how strong I actually was. I knew I had to have the mental strength to tell myself every day that I had to make it. I had to be the...re for my family, my students, and for other teachers who needed an example of success. When asked what the beauty industry and #PMTS have taught him, Bryant said that being nice costs nothing. Making someone’s day is free. If I could give anyone in the industry or anyone about to enter the industry advice, it would be to stay open to learning and coaching. While in a hard moment you may feel like this isn’t the right industry for you, in reality you are right where you need to be to help paint the world pretty, one head and face at a time. Bryant, we are so proud of your journey and your commitment to bring beauty (inside and out) into the world!
