This new program provides older community members in Plumas County access to essential resources and support for their emotional health and overall well-being. I am eager to introduce Senior Life Solutions to Plumas County and increase quality of care for our fellow community members. Plumas District Hospital is currently recruiting for a Registered Dental Assistant, Full Time. The wage scale for this positions is, $21.44-$27.36 per hour; starting pay offered is dependent upon experience. Under direct supervision of the Dental Director, Registered Dental Assistant will prepare patients for examination or treatment and make sure that the patients are relaxed and comfortable. Assures that all needed supplies, instruments and equipment are ready. Assists t...he dentist as chair side by mixing compounds for fillings, manipulating a suction instrument to keep the patient’s mouth clear, and handing instruments to the dentist. Technical duties include instrument and room sterilization and inventory and care of equipment. Provides instruction in oral hygiene takes and processes x-rays. May perform laboratory work and instruct patients in plaque control and dental hygiene. May take diagnostic impressions, remove sutures and dressings, and apply fluoride treatments when working directly with the dentist. May also do clerical duties such as making appointments, case record maintenance, billing and payment functions, and handle patients dental insurance. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Graduation from a accredited Dental Assistant Program. Valid California dental x-ray license. Current CPR card required. Coronal polishing certificate desirable Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal skills with patients required. Knowledge of current dental assistant practices and procedures. Must have knowledge of alphabetical filing system. Must have sufficient knowledge of verbal and English comprehension and expression to communicate clearly with callers, visitors and staff. Must be able to perform simple addition and subtraction, and read and copy numbers accurately. Experience: 1 2 years experience as a Registered Dental Assistant preferred. Other Requirements: Must have a valid California Drivers License, have a good driving record and show proof of minimum insurance coverage. Must possess the ability to prioritize assignments and responsibilities and handle a wide range of duties. Must demonstrate reliable and punctual attendance. Must have a friendly and helpful disposition toward visitors, callers and staff.
