I can’t believe Halloween is almost here! Flashback to another Main Street USA Emporium window I created using reappropriated props from old animated windows and Fantasyland props. The sumptuous orange fanatics were my favorite to work with and the really complemented the Eastlake antique chairs. Candlesticks from the Haunted Mansion were enhanced by making them electric candles that I painted into black wax witch tallow. Drapes, back pads, trimmed cloths by me. Florals don...e in decayed grandeur my @traypag The piece that pulls everything together is the painted faux night sky/landscape on canvas attached to the folding antique glass cabinet doors. I’m so happy the current team still uses my designs that I put so much love into. It’s #imagineeringmonday ! This Emporium Halloween overlay has to be my favorite version of this window on Main Street. I purposely choose to make the grey tone back pads and drapes and vanity skirting so that the pops of lime green and blood red would be that much more intense. I imagined what glorious Victorian witch’s vanity repose would look like...all the way down to the silver hair reticule for her to use in future spells! All silver pieces are antiques. Inspired by @philanderc85 #imagineeringmonday I’d like to submit my #windowdisplay during my years @disneyland Resort Enhancement. If you didn’t know already, I spent the first 20 years of my life after high school creating magical vignettes of all themes and genre. 12 of those years creating for Disneyland. This window was one of my absolute favorites!! Obviously I love Halloween, so the spooky layers added to The Tower of Terror we’re beyond my pleasure. The freedom given t...o us artisans by our management to trust us with telling a story through visual depictions is an experience that lives with me everyday. As a designer, you were in charge of everything for you area of responsibility. Procuring and making props, collaborating with fellow cast members, and physical fabrication of florals and soft elements.
