Kyrie, from Messe solennelle in C-sharp minor, Op. 16 Scott Horton, organ https://clyp.it/a1d3l0l4... Today marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Louis Vierne (Oct. 8, 1870 - June 2, 1937). Vierne was a great organist and composer at Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris, from 1900 until 1937. He died while seated at the organ console during an evening concert. In celebration of the life and music of Louis Vierne, I will be presenting a recording from our Casavant Pipe Organ of one of his compositions every Thursday during the month of October. I hope you will enjoy the power and beauty of his music. Note: For the best experience in hearing all the nuances of sound, especially the lower frequencies of the Casavant Pipe Organ, please utilize headphones or external speakers.
