Perfect Banana Bread Recipe A slice of banana bread along with a fried egg and some juice makes for a delicious breakfast. And it’s so easy to throw a batch together using a few over-ripe bananas. This bread makes pretty tasty french toast or bread puddingthe possibilities are endless. You can play around with the ingredients. Add nuts (usually pecans or walnuts) or a handful of shredded coconut in the batter. If you're feeling tropical I’ll throw some pineapple chunks in wi...th the coconut. For banana bread with a bit of a praline flavor, substitute 1/2 of the white sugar for dark brown sugar and definitely add pecans. Blueberries are good too. Streusel topping or granola can make it interesting. So can some rum, but that’s true of a lot of things. This recipe for Cranberry Orange Biscotti is one everyone can enjoy they are lighter than traditional Italian bisoctti but still crunchy. Biscotti bake twice rather than once, and thus take a bit longer start-to-finish than normal drop cookies. But, they are relative easy to pull together. They make a delicious, light dessert. Spanish Chickpea Stew with Kale and Salt Pork recipe This is a great recipe to make in advance. This stew is more like a hearty soup, but it makes for a super satisfying bowl that hits the spot on a cold night. We definitely recommend using the Edison Grainery Garbanzo Beans that we have here at the store, as they seemed to re-hydrate better than others. And, you can choose to use kale rather than collards.... You can find the recipe on our blog, The Kitchen Table http://piedmontgrocery.com/spanish-chickpea-stew-kale-salt/

Flan Recipe Though it may seem daunting, Mexican flan is not difficult to make especially if you do individual servings. When making flan, ingredients matter because the recipe is so simple. Make sure you use good quality vanilla. You can also use the seeds from a vanilla bean if you want big vanilla flavor. We like to add a little cinnamon. Try to use a true Ceylon cinnamon if you can.... You can find the recipe on our blog, The Kitchen Tablehttps://piedmontgrocery.com/flan/

Focaccia-Style Sheet Pan Pizza recipe While this recipe does qualify as pizza, it is not your typical neighborhood delivery type pie. It’s actually got a crust more like focaccia. The dough for this crust is pretty wet, so the trick to making this sheet pan pizza is to not use fresh mozzarella and to top it with ingredients that do not have a lot of moisture to keep the top from getting too soggy. You can try regular pizza saucebut use it sparingly. Lightly brushing it on wi...th a pastry brush would be ideal. Also, if you want a little more bang for your buck, you can chop up some fresh rosemary to add to the crust dough to give it some tasty fresh flavor.
