The Pet Zone Tropical Fish team is very excited to be participating in AquaShella 2021 in Orlando, Florida! Joining our comrades from UFA (United Flowerhorn Association), we are happy to share this awesome experience with our fellow tropical fish, flowerhorn and hybrid cichlid hobbyists! Come by and say hello to us at the UFA booth. We will be at the show this weekend from June 12th Saturday to June 13th Sunday. We will be doing some Flowerhorn Fry raffle giveaways in additio...n to carrying some livestock and other fish keeping goodies throughout the duration of the show. Join us for a fun and interactive talk on Saturday June 12th as we highlight the grooming and breeding process of the Flowerhorn fish (which is crucial to its sustained optimum form and health for future generations), with our host and teammate, Max Gandara. Schedule for the talk is TBD, stay tuned. Join us on Sunday for an extra special 'Crossbreeding 101' lecture as Max will dive into how to create a show quality Flowerhorn. Get your hands wet and learn directly with us as we show you all the proper steps on how to build a Wabi-Kusa, even for those with very limited aquascaping experience. The tank and all the aquascape materials + plants are yours to keep and take home after the workshop! Wab-Kusas are m...inimalistic and are an easy to maintain method to get into the aquascaping hobby for those with a lack of space and time as they are much less expensive than having a proper tank with all the added aquarium equipment required in a normal aquascape. The plants and Wabi-Kusa container itself are easy to care for and don't require high maintenance. Not only can they be breathtaking pieces of natural art on your desk but can also be utilized as a desk lamp when put together with a proper aesthetically appealing light system. *Note, plants and/or container can vary based on what is currently on hand due to seasonal changes in hobby and/or aquatic industry. At the @HakkaiSD #AquascapeGallery, we’ve covered quite a few tank sizes, ranging from the standard sized 5 gallon to 44 gallon aquariums to 1 gallon to 16 gall...on cube tanks. We haven’t had the chance to do a shallow tank just yet until today! Sean utilized #HakkaiStone (yes, that’s the inspiration behind the name of our gallery) and HC #DwarfBabyTears. We're excited to announce our very first VIRTUAL First Fridays livestream with our community of artists here at ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station on November 6th 2020, Friday. Join us for a fun and interactive aquascape build + talk. Pond Tank Aquascapes are gaining popularity as many of these plants can be grown in a mix of emergent and submersed. Once the tank is fairly grown in and stable, there is minimal maintenance along with the lack of a need for a filter. This makes ...it ideal for those who lack the time to dedicate themselves to a much more demanding aquascape tank. We will be live-streaming this for everyone's health and safety. In-person viewing permitted but seating will be limited due to social distancing. We will start around 4:00pm or so Pacific Time on Friday, November 6th. Maintenance on your #aquascape is crucial. Not only does it allow the plants to grow better but it balances out the entire ecosystem of the tank and the removal of algae and detritus allow the plants to photosynthesize (aka pearl) effectively.
