As fall is gone and winter is here the focus is on steelhead. I will be guiding the Trinity and Lower Sac for the winter months. Possibly a little coastal exploration also. Winter steelhead fishing is not a fair weather game. Patience and timing are key and bring your layers and rain gear. I am booking winter steelhead trips! Snow today in Tahoe so fall is here and some cool temps to go with it. I am shifting gears from walk and wade season in the Sierras to drift boat fishing the Lower Sac and Trinity rivers for trout and steelhead. Both venues are fishing well with egg bite going on. I am almost sold out for October and booking November on now. It's time to get on the books if you haven't already. Early signs are looking good on the Trinity with salmon in the river and steelhead coming with them.... I hope we get some rain soon and have a good steelhead season on both rivers. I am also booking 2022 season in Sierras , Trinity River and Lower Sacramento river. I always look forward to getting back in the boat and chasing steelhead and big rainbows. Its 2021 and after a dry fall 2020 winter has arrived. With more weather on the way it's time to go steelhead fishing. The Trinity river received rain ,wind and snow this week with another good shot of weather on way. There are some good steelhead in the river and current weather should bring more winter fish.I am currently booking winter Trinity steelhead trips and Lower Sac trout. I have good availability for February and March. I recommend multi day bookings when hunting steelhead to give yourself the best chance for success. Its setting up to be a good Super Bowl weekend. It's been a couple tough months but I am now booking spring and summer dates. I am offering the following options Lower Sac float for rainbows , Ametican River float for shad, walk and wade Sierra options. I was on the Lower Sac last week and had good fishing for rainbows. The American River shad run is in! This goes quick. Book now. The Sierra options are looking good. Truckee river has been good . The East Walker has also fished well. I will be using precautions for Covid 1...9. Sanitize boat, rods, wafers etc. Recommend Buffs or similar or mask as a precaution. It's time to come out and play. Steelhead fishing on the Trinity has been pretty good the last few weeks . Uncrowded fishing in some nice weather. There is still some time left to catch some steelhead. I am taking bookings into March. As spring approaches it's time to think about booking a trip on the Lower Sac to fish for fat rainbows in nice weather. I am booking Lower Sac trips through May. This is also a great fishery to bring wife or girlfriend or novice anglers to experience some great fishing.. As ...we get into April I will also be guiding my Tahoe area options for trout in the Sierras . This is walk and wade fishing. I will be in the Tahoe are for summer season. Its time to book your winter steelhead trip. Nor Cal rivers will be coming up and bringing in fresh fish. I am booking December into March now.Book multiple days and get discounted rate. Spring fishing on the Lower Sac is here. Typical of spring a little weather to go with it. The Lower Sac is going strong with great fishing for rainbows the next couple months is prime time. Some fun fishing on the Trinity River during the Cast Hope Steelhead Tournament last two days. Great group of anglers in good weather . Due to a cancellation I have December 9th through 12th available. Get a hold of me and let's get on the water this week.
