With great sadness I must convey to you that Andre Dolle, a longtime member of our Club, has passed. Andre was our most excellent tournament director and one of the founding members of Club de Petanque San Diego. I considered him a good friend and I will miss him much. Please offer with us your prayers and good thoughts to his wife, Joan, at this difficult time on the eve of the Christmas Holiday. Spanky

No drinking or smoking in petanque in France? In France?

We regret to inform you that as of December 5th and until further notice we will have no official club play due to State of California/City of San Diego stay-at-home, do not gather orders. The orders state this will be in effect for 3 weeks, but this will not change until each agency allows us to start up once again. We will keep you informed. Spanky

Regarding, Amelia island open 2020 - Cancelled Dear Petanque Family, As you all know, the registration date for the Amelia Island Open historically is May 1st.... This year we postponed it to July 1st to allow the Amelia Island Open's Team the necessary time to gauge the overall environment locally, nationally and internationally. The Cornonavirus pandemic has caused a vast majority of sporting events to be cancelled or postponed due to regulations and advisories from governments and global health organizations. At this time, we think it prudent to listen to the advice of health professionals and not have a large gathering. Based on the rise in Covid-19 cases, travel restrictions currently in place and financial considerations, we are sorry to announce that the Amelia Island Open - International Petanque Tournament is cancelled for 2020. The safety of everyone is our first priority. We strive to produce a fun, competitive and warm petanque event to share with you all. This unstable environment we are currently experiencing simply does not allow us to make this happen in 2020. We are extremely saddened by this decision, but we know it is the right one at this time. Work crew getting the courts ready, in a little pick up action afterwards on a beautiful San Diego afternoon. It was really great to see everyone. Thanks to those of you who were able to come out today.

First time throwing the boules since my accident in December of last year. With my Physical Therapist today. She will help me get back in shape to play once things open up again. Spanky
