A lot of you have inquired about dating during these challenging times. Our founder Simona Fusco shared some advice and input about how our clients are handling dating during COVID-19. Hope it gives you some insight and advice. This is the time to practice your courting skills! As you by now know, in light of COVID-19, all bars, restaurants as well as all entertainment venues are closed, and we are warned by the WHO to practice social distancing and Shelter-In-Place. Th...is has a lot of people feeling anxious, bored and lonely at home. A lot of you have reached out to us asking for advice on how to conquer this time and meet people. After all we are hungry for connections for each other. This is hard for everyone as we are asked to stay at home and stay safe. But for some of you it is even harder because home can be a lonely place. I can only imagine that being asked to stay there could feel very isolating. Believe it or not, this pandemic has actually brought people much closer together. From people singing off of their balconies to connect with their neighbors to people being forced to reach out to others on a much deeper level, whether that is to offer help with groceries to your elderly family and friends or to have someone special to share your feelings during this daunting new normal period. This is the time to practice old fashioned courtship and get to know your significant other before meeting. It is how courting was done in the old days whereas it was the role of the man to actively court or woo a woman towards an intimate relationship and eventually marriage. Through writing her love letters, sending her little gifts such as chocolates and flowers, engaging in long conversations on the phone and finally asking permission from her parents to take her out on a date. Imagine all the anticipation both must have felt before finally being able to meet in person! Explosive right?! Today, thankfully for us, this is much easier done! Now more than ever, we are fortunate to be able to connect no matter what the situation through technology where we can Facetime at the flick of our finger, or Zoom/Skype from the comfort of our home. We can meet face to face before meeting in person! I witness people that are miles apart cook recipes together, watch movies together, take walks together and come up with many other fun online dating ideas that are so important to get to know one another. There is no better feeling than experiencing those butterflies in your stomach right before you meet except this time you’ll know that because you both genuinely took the time to get to know each other beforehand, you’re meeting for real and authentic reasons. If nothing else, this pandemic has taught us to go back to our old-fashioned values. Appreciating and spending time with family, and being kind to one another.
