Early this morning Peardale Chicago Park Fire sent Brush-57 as part of the 4106-C Strike Team assigned to the August Complex. Warmer temperatures, low humidity and north winds are expected the next few days.

Use caution in the area of Youbet Rd, crews are still on scene cleaning up after a transfer truck lost its trailer.

Yesterday the Nevada County strike team was released from the Moc Fire in Tuolumne County. On the way home they happened to be in the right place at the right time as a new fire started in Auburn off Perry Ranch Rd. They were able to stop and assist with extinguishing the fire. Crews were able to contain the fire to approximately 9 acres.

Peardale Chicago Park Fire along with the rest of the Nevada County strike team 4103C have been busy working on the Moc fire in Tuolumne County.

****RED FLAG WARNING**** **Dry Lightning Likely** Another dangerous wave of lightning storms will move through norther California over the next 24-36 hours. Num...erous waves of moisture from a remnant tropical storm will trigger potentially widespread thunderstorms, with highest potential for activity being tonight through Monday morning. This does not look as potent or as strong as the lightning event a week ago in which 10,000+ strikes were recorded over the north state. The overall moisture feed is less and there is less favorable vertical enhancement which means that thunderstorms should be weaker and not as strong. Also, lower level temperatures will not be as hot. However, given the extremely limited firefighting resources that are not already committed to active fires, any new fire starts will strain the system further and initial attack could be very limited. The heavy smoke and reduced visibility will also limit detection of new starts by fire cams, ground observation and air resources. This is one forecast I really hope is wrong. FORECAST: Smoke will decrease a bit during the day today as the southerly flow increases, but air quality will remain very poor. Increasing mid and high-level clouds will increase through the day, with scattered thunderstorms developing late today and through the night into Monday morning. Highs will be in the low 90s through the period. **Looks like a cooling trend is possible around September 1st with highs in the mid to low 80s. It will be short-lived however, as the medium range forecast calls for above average temperatures returning after only a brief 2-4 days of cooler weather. Crews are working a vehicle into a power pole, Meadow Drive. Watch out for emergency workers in the area. The road is closed until PG&E can make repairs.
