Hey all. Just a friendly reminder that we will be phasing this page out and instead posting all events and putting all announcements on the group: Sacramento Valley Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. Look for an icon of the Peace Corps logo in chalk art. We have a few events coming up, so head on over there and check it out.

Hey Sacramento Valley Returned Peace Corps Volunteers! Facebook pages are great, but we prefer two-way communication, so hop on over to our group page. All the same information from the Sac Valley Returned Peace Corps Board, but better because YOU can share information and updates too. See you there!

Hostelling International (HI) - Sacramento is a non-profit organization founded on an enduring belief in the power of travel to foster a deeper understanding of people, places, and cultures for a more tolerant world. They do this through a network of 50 hostels throughout the U.S. and diverse programming, most notably through their Explore the World Travel Scholarship. This program grants youth ages 18-30, who demonstrate financial need, $2,000 to travel internationally for a... service or educational reason. In 2019, HI launched this program in Sacramento with two scholarships to award to local youth. They had more than 70 applicants, demonstrating the need for this program in Sacramento and the surrounding areas. They host an outdoor summer movie series called Silver Screens and Summer Nights to raise fund for the scholarship program. The event is free, but they raffle a prize of local goods. All proceeds will go back into the program for 2020 applicants. If you're available, stop by the HI Sacramento Hostel on H street for an outdoor movie and support youth travel!
