"...in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh" (Joel 2/Acts 2). These are the "last days" we are living in now, biblically speaking. This means not only can Jesus return at any moment "like a thief in the night," but it also means that the God who is not willing that any should perish is pouring it on, so to speak, and pouring out His Spirt on everyone who calls on the name of the Lord. The promise is salvation! Now, more than any... other time in history no reason to be left behind remains at such a gracious and accessible invitation. The Good News of a Savior, Jesus Christ, who died for all sinners and rose from the dead is our sure and only hope that in Him, we too will rise to eternal life. The Spirit calls you by this Gospel proclamation. Receive the free offer of forgiveness and share in God's outpouring of blessings today! See more

"The Communion of Saints" is not merely something we recite in the Creed each week. We experience it by faith now each time we celebrate the Lord's Supper - "together with angels and archangels and the whole company of heaven..." Our mystic sweet communion is also with all those whose rest is won, brothers and sisters who died and kept the faith. There, they experience this communion of saints by sight, just as we will, too, someday if we keep the faith by the strength God provides through His enduring Word & Sacrament.

On this All Saints Day, we celebrate one more being baptized into the Faith. Congratulations to Matthew Nomi who joins the mystic communion of all the saints in both the Church Militant and Church Triumphant.

It's hard to say exactly at what point in the 16th century the historic Reformation began. What's easier to point out, lamentably, is that reforming the Church was clearly necessary. One of the most fundamental questions to clear up was "How is a sinner justified before a holy God?" Listen in for the scriptural answer presented in today's service.

The Peace Pumpkin Patch is coming! Oct. 27-Oct. 31, 2020. Have the kids wear their Halloween costumes. We won't be able to have all the cool stuff we have had in past years but, it will still be a great place to have the "littles" or the big kids come and pick out a pumpkin and take some family photo's!! Contact free Goodie bags will be available for the children.

They say "clothes make the man." In today's parable, Jesus talks about how a man minus his wedding garment is unfit for the kingdom of heaven. To us that sounds shocking. It seems outrageous and unfair until you hear how a perfect robe of righteousness is your free gift in Christ Jesus! Checkout today's sermon.

Tenants who think they're owners. That's what this Sunday's parable is all about. Turns out these tenants on planet Earth are US. Ouch. Despite Thanksgiving being on the horizon, there's far too much space between our grateful expressions to God for every little thing He has blessed us with - including our next breath. He asks for the return of His first fruits of the vineyard, and we resent the request. We, thus, incur God's wrath but instead He gives us His Son and takes out His wrath upon Him who became one of us just for that very purpose. We can now accept or reject that scandalous offer of forgiveness.

"You're not the boss of me!" The authority of Jesus gets challenged in today's Gospel. Jesus was a threat to the power base of the religious leaders of His day. Overstepping their role as stewards, these leaders saw themselves as "in charge" of the Temple. Unlike so many who abuse their authority, Jesus uses His power only to serve, forgive and restore sinners who admit their need. God's Word helps us see and admit our need for God's help in our lives.

"Are you envious because I am generous?" Jesus snags all of us at one time or another with that probing question asked in one of His kingdom parables. Anytime we see somebody else get the recognition or reward we think should be coming our way, our hidden envy is exposed, showing that we really don't understand His amazing grace. Watch today's service for a wonderful reminder of what His abundant grace is all about.

Forgiveness. It's at the heart and soul of Christianity. We could preach on forgiveness every Sunday (and in some ways we do). But today we look at an amazing parable that zeroes in on forgiveness - even to the point of making us squirm. It should. Yet beyond our lamentable shortcomings in this area stands the astounding divine forgiveness in Christ by stark contrast. Listen and be amazed!
