Here are two images of Randy Strunk (PB Surf Shop owner) and Ron Greene (right) President of Pacific Beach Surf Club holding two $750.00 checks which will be forwarded to the Groundswell Society who established the Dr. Walter Munk Scholarship. We are looking for a high school senior with a high GPA in rigorous classes, a surfer with additional public service, will be attending a university to pursue a career in marine sciences or meteorology, and an acceptance letter from the university. Dr. Munk is considered the Father of Oceanography (a San Diego Treasure) and provided groundbreaking work regarding how swells traveled the globe, along with tidal energy, ocean acoustics, temperature, and earth’s rotation.

Meet Colleen Humel! One of our two AWESOME photographers here at PB Surf Shop! Colleen joined our shop about a month ago and has been loving it since! When asked what her favorite part about the job was she answered: I love being able to capture the smiles, laughter, and all the fun that comes from taking a surf lesson or joining our camp here! When not at PB Surf Shop, you can find Colleen working her own business @colleenhumelphotography! She loves working with famili...es, couples, and ESPECIALLY sports! Risa Bell took surf lessons from us about two years ago and became part of our PB Surf Shop family! After she put together the Paddle for Peace paddleout that brought our PB surf community together to show support for the Black Lives Matter movement, we wanted to thank her. Our friend Don Miralli has taken the awesome Unity shot from the North County paddleout. So we gifted that image to Risa to thank her for her vision and service to our beach community!
