"Mary was born in Hoopa and lived her entire life on the Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation, where she was a proud Hoopa Tribal Member. She worked many years in the Child Care Program for the Tribe. She also loved to play Bingo and enjoyed spending time playing cards and dice with her family. Her greatest moments were spending time with her grandchildren and the many travels on the road with her husband."

"People would know her to be a warm woman with a heart of gold, ready to help anyone in need. If someone was hungry, she fed them. If you needed new shoes, she’d reach out in the community and find you a pair. If there’s wasn’t enough for everyone, it would be put away. She looked out for others."
