As we are in Breast Cancer Awareness month, let’s take time to be mindful of being proactive in prevention. Three important things to empower yourself: 1 - Take your Vit. D. Not only is it crucial for maintaining a healthy immune system but studies have shown that breast cancer cells do not thrive in a Vit. D rich environment. Take your blood levels as close to 50ng/ml as possible. D3 with K2 is the best combination for breast tissue as well as bone health.... 2 - Do your self-breast exams regularly. Many women find their cancers even after clean mammograms. You know your body better than anyone. Becoming familiar with your normal density can make you more aware of changes. Keep in mind that cancer does not come and go so there’s no need to worry about lumps caused by hormonal fluctuations. 3 - Especially in this time of Covid-19, release negativity and receive gratitude. We know there is a correlation between our emotions and our health. Breast tissue is susceptible to stuck emotions. As we are challenged in this moment in history, find ways to release your frustrations and anger. Get out in nature, if possible. Spend time with safe friends who are good listeners, journal, scream into a pillow! Get all the anxiety out of your body so you can relax and reduce stress hormones. Then find movement that you enjoy. Dance, walk, exercise doing something you like, and most of all, laugh. In spite of it all, we have so much to be grateful for.

Hello everyone, as you know I'm not the best at keeping up with social media but I do want to encourage you in this trying time. Quarantine basics: 1 - Get good sleep - that's when repair happens and the immune system re-calibrates. 2 - Eat well - we need to provide the body with the nutrition it needs to fight infection. 3 - Move - moderate exercise increases white blood cells, improves circulation and strengthens the lungs. It also helps relieve stress and anxiety. ... 4 - Find something to do that will reduce your stress. Stress hormone (cortisol) weakens the immune system. "I always wanted to_____" Now could be the time. You can even travel virtually! 5 - Support your immune system and lungs with Vit. C, Vit. D and if you have trouble sleeping add Melatonin. 6 - Don't let fear steal your sense of hope. Sometimes, focusing on gratitude and hope allows the answers to the questions come in the most surprising ways. Love you all. Take care of yourselves and each other.

20 years. 20 years to make a change while the breast cancer statistics remain static. Ladies, whose breasts are they? That's the person who needs to make the change - today.

Yesterday there was a news piece on Good Morning America about a woman whose breast cancer was missed by Thermography. If you have read my book or heard me speak you know how I will respond to this but here are my thoughts. 1 - She found the mass. Many breast cancers are found but us, not the exams. Your regular self-breast exam is important. Stop saying "I know" and DO IT! 2 - Her initial reaction was fear. Normal but not helpful. We cannot make good decisions from a place ...of fear. You have seen plenty of horror films to see what happens when fear takes over. It's easy to yell "run" at the screen but fear is paralyzing. Stay as calm as you can so you can make clear, informed choices. 3- She chose a different clinical path. Great, but NO SINGLE EXAM IS 100%. Not even the mammogram. (10-16% rate of false results) Studies have concluded that we should use two different types of breast exam in order to get a complete picture of what is going on. Whether it's traditional or not is less important than getting two views and two sets of information. Ladies, we have options. Get educated, be informed and advocate on your own behalf. Blessings and good health to you!

A Sure Touch client gave us a great review on her FB page and it sparked a long thread of conversation some of which was based on misleading assumptions or lack of information. That's great! Let's keep the conversation going so we can educate more women.
