UPDATED: Toddler Found Wandering Alone in Pasadena; Family Located 6 Hours Later Police on Friday morning located the family of a 3-year-old girl who was found... wandering by herself in Pasadena in the middle of the night, officials said. The child was spotted by herself at Wilson Avenue and Yolo Street just before 2 a.m., Pasadena police said in a written statement. A passer-by notified authorities after seeing the girl by herself on a sidewalk, according to Lt. Max Dahlstein. The citizen found the child wearing pajamas, holding a bottle, and wearing no shoes, according to the police statement. Officers brought the girl to the police station, and she was placed into the custody of the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services, the lieutenant said. She appeared healthy and unharmed. Investigators began scouring the neighborhood looking for signs of the girl’s family and reached out to the public for help, officials said. The child’s frantic mother called police shabout 8:45 a.m. to report finding her daughter missing and the front door of her home open, Dahlstein said. Preliminary investigation has not revealed any evidence of child endangerment or neglect, according to the police statement. Once the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services determines it is safe to return the child to her parents, the family will be reunited. The investigation is ongoing.
