We're really missing all of the kids (and adults) in costumes coming by our offices for the week of Halloween. Since we can't see you at the Conservatory, we'll bring the Halloween spirit to you! There is a little over one week left for PCM's Practice-athon. This Friday, check out Café Luar, featuring PCM faculty Sharon Weed and Erika Walczak, in their ArtNight video premiere! Café Luar will enchant and mesmerize with a selection of waltzes, tangos and jazz standards evoking the simple, carefree entertainment of more innocent times. In May, Jadon Elliott was scheduled to present his senior guitar recital in Barrett Hall, a rite of passage for many students as they conclude their high school music studies. However, when Covid-19 caused a mass cancellation of events worldwide, senior recitals like Jadon’s were cancelled as well. So when he sent us the video of his senior recital, which he recorded over the summer, we asked if we could share it with the PCM community. We are now two weeks into Practice-a-thon 2020! We are inspired by how much our students, parents, faculty, and staff are practicing and by the healthy competition among studios and departments to up their practice time each week! PCM students of Sharon Harman, Marcel Zamora (RCM level 4) and Malena Zamora (RCM level 3) both received gold medals for earning the highest scores in the region for their RCM exams this summer. Congratulations Marcel and Malena!
