Never Give Up. @kevinzacknich18 walked in to Paradigm Sport 4 years and 6 months ago and transformed his life. We're celebrating his commitment to hard work and effort. We appreciate you Kevin. You're an inspiring person and athlete in our community. For 2 years, Kevin trained in Small Group Personal and Team Training sessions, learning, practicing, building strength and endurance; a 4x week commitment that he still maintains today as a 9am-er Team Training regular, adding... in a weekly 12pm or 5pm Team Training session too. "I started Paradigm Sport to lose weight. I succeeded in doing that plus so much more. I have found friends and teachers that give me a competitive edge. Paradigm Sport has opened up a whole new world for me. I hope to take up mountain biking soon and feel grateful each and every day to be a part of this community. The Paradigm Sport community and staff are the support and encouragement I've needed to continue my fitness path. I'm motivated to train on a regular basis and they give me the push I need. During the brief COVID shutdown, I lost my way a bit, but @joey_wolfe reached out to help me get back on course. @kendrawolfe and Joey have been very kind and generous towards me. I am humbled to belong to such a positive community of people. I could not recommend Paradigm Sport more strongly to that individual looking to be more fit and active." Sincerely, Kevin J. Things take time so be patient and keep working. Today we're celebrating and appreciating @pamela.velasquez! We're on a mission to build strength in community. We met Pamela in the spring of 2018 when she joined our Athlete in She program. Since then she's been a Small Group Personal Training and Team Training regular, 4-5x per week. She's thrown some CardioBoxing moves, kicks and punches too. "Originally, my goal was to look better. I soon realized that "looking... better" wouldn't be achieved by only adding a daily workout. I had to make many changes in my life including, my relationship with food, prioritizing my health (physical & mental), and my outlook on exercise among other things. Over time training has become a sort of therapy for me; something I look forward to everyday. Training makes me happier and life easier, that's why I do it. Weight loss was my goal. I lost double the weight I wanted to lose and I feel great! I had no intention of losing more than my goal, but that's what happens when you go to Paradigm and push your limits. Right now, I am focusing on muscle gain and look forward to that challenge. If working out starts feeling like a chore, then you're doing it wrong. My tip would be to love what you're doing. It's important that you really enjoy whatever workout, or fitness class you join because that's when you'll want to go do it again; that's how you'll build consistency, and that's when exercise becomes a part of your lifestyle. Lastly slow progress is better than no progress, so embrace the small wins! I keep coming back to Paradigm because every day they have something new for us, which keeps me motivated to show up." Pamela's favorite organization is @immfamtogether dedicated to reuniting and supporting immigrant families separated at the US/Mexico border. Along with raising and paying the bonds of detained parents, Immigrant Families Together seeks to provide pro bono legal representation, safe transportation to wherever the children have been taken, and, if needed, housing and resources for families awaiting immigration trials. Donate if you can. #trainlikeitmatters #athletetraining See more

Strive for Progress. We're on a mission to build strength in community. Today we're celebrating and appreciating @jthatcher! We met John in our Virtual Team Training class on Zoom, late-July this year amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. He is a 12pm regular; nearly every weekday, if not Every weekday. "Having numerous hobbies (surfing, paddle boarding, cycling, swimming, volleyball), I need a fitness program that improves my overall fitness and maintains healthy performance... levels for everything I do outside the gym. Getting a full workout in an hour is excellent and super important for my mental health. My goals are to improve my strength, overall sport performance, and fitness levels. Recently, I've had a goal of weight loss. During the first several months of COVID-19, with the mandatory closure of gyms and a loss of routine, my fitness suffered. I gained a fair amount of weight. A few months ago, I was the heaviest I have ever been (196). In 2 months, I've already lost 17 pounds through regular exercise and tweaks to my diet. While not at my goal weight, I am making progress. I've noticed a dramatic improvement in my endurance and cardiovascular fitness. I have regained strength as well, and I might need to start bringing my 52lb Kettlebell with me for my workouts. I'm beyond pleased with the success I've had in meeting my goals and the speed with which it has happened. There's a lot that keeps me coming back to Paradigm. The amazing coaching staff is a huge component. They are dedicated to helping you live a healthier life and work hard to make fun and challenging workouts. Despite being a remote participant, I feel like I am a part of the community due in large part to the instructors being so welcoming and focused on building a great community. The workouts are great, and modifications either due to equipment (or lack thereof) or injuries are quickly provided and don't diminish quality." John's favorite local organization is @montereybayaquarium. Their doors are still closed. However, the caring of marine animals, school programs for kids and marine education for all continue. Donate if you can. #trainlikeitmatters #athletetraining See more
