Three years ago (almost 4), I became a mom. When I became a mom I learned that I wanted to spend all my time with Kal-El but absolutely loved being a teacher. I... felt unbalanced and struggled almost everyday when I had to leave him. I cried ugly, every single morning. I had to admit that I had an extreme case of "Mommy guilt." I needed to find a book to explain how I was feeling, why I had to work, and more importantly reassure my kids and myself that I always came back and all will be okay in the world. I searched and searched and could not find one. It frustrated the heck out of me. I needed a book that would let my children know that Mommy will come back to them. I needed a book that would remind ME that it'll all be okay. So, three years ago at 3 a.m. in the morning I had the outrageous idea to write a children's book. I wanted a book to explain to my child and now children that I will always come back to them. If this book helps one mom get through each night with the anxiety of leaving her child the next day, or helps one mom that feels her heart break in the morning, then all of this will be worth it.
