In Philippine mythology, Ynaguinid is considered the Goddess of War and Poison. Visayan Warriors would pray to her to bless them with the might, bravery and str...ength to overcome enemies in battle. She also taught them how to extract poison from the surrounding flora and educated them of when and how to use them. Guro Conrad Cayman ( @halokalisilat )with another 60 second Beginner Breakdown! 60 second Beginner Breakdown: 2 mechanics for backhand strikes. Turning your shoulders into a backhand strike can be used to get more range or power, as well as structure in crashing and pinning movements when moving into closer ranges. ... Turning away means less power, but keeps your head further from a threat, and can be used with any of the basic strikes that don’t have to cross center line (pitik, bilog, saksak, paypay, taga, etc). For beginners, work this into a basic X pattern, and alternate the mechanics at intervals. Later on incorporate either mechanic into other single or double weapon combinations- 6 count, T 4 count, kidlat, pasok tatlo, or whatever other ones you might have in your system. When incorporating into techniques, just keep in mind the range and purpose of each backhand movement and pick the mechanic that’s best for the situation. Train with us online at @pamanakali - we have classes 5 days a week and a $99 / 4 week special that includes 2 sticks and uniform! #halokalisilat #pamanakali #beginnerbreakdown #fmabrotherhood #filipinomartialarts #filipinomartialartstraining #kaliescrima #kalieskrima #kalisilat #arnis #inosantolineage #basicsfirst #trainthebasics #bodymechanics #backhand #martialarts #martialartstraining See more

I could not be more proud of my mini-me @nnnicole_d and @margahhrett , not just becau...se they’re bold, but because they put together this guide in a way I’ve seen no one else conceptualize yet. And because of it, I hope we all learn to move forward in the real work together. #Repost @ikat.voices Here's Marge and Nicole's, A Filipinx How-to on Confronting Anti-Blackness + Anti-Indigeneity guide, that was discussed during IgoROOTS & Allyship.
