Modernism Week announced that they’re delaying the in-person portions of the event from February to April. Modernism Week has decided to reschedule in-person events from February to April 8-18-2021. In its place in February, the Modernism Week Online Experience will include a curated line-up of more than 20 new video programs created specifically for Modernism Week, and encore presentations of past programs available for purchase and on-demand streaming February 1-28, 202...1 at modernismweek.com. Also online in February, Modernism Week will offer an online auction February 1-14 that will feature one-of-a-kind architectural experiences and unique, limited specialty items not normally available to the public. William Kopelk, Modernism Week Chairman said: We are committed to the safety of our guests and we are monitoring daily health advisories, We realize that it will not be possible to provide in-person events during our annual February dates, however, we are optimistic that we will be able to provide safer and more enjoyable in-person tours and programs in April as conditions improve. American architect John Lautner's Arthur Elrod House, which has a dome-shaped concrete roof and a half-moon swimming pool was featured in the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever.... The residence sits on an elevated site in Palm Springs' Araby Cove neighbourhood, facing north to overlook the city and Coachella Valley beyond. Lautner completed the house in 1968 for American designer Arthur Elrod, who created the interiors for the home himself.

Henry found a new home Henry is one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever known! At my Palm Springs Office BHGRE Leaskou Partners Joshua Tree Office we all bring our dogs in to work with us. Our founder Benjamin Leaskou has a dog park / sculpture garden built so the dogs can go out and play together. ... One of our Realtors, Adree Rojas, is fostering this adorable dog: Henry. Here is a bit of info about him: Henry is an adorable, sweet, smart boy. He's believed to be about two years old and it's thought he's part lab terrier mix. It's unknown what his life has been up to this point and he is a little timid and frightened initially but he usually relaxes and warms up quickly. He's playful & Fun loving. We forget, what once we took for granted: - Looking into each others eyes.... - Seeing friends smile. - The sound of laughter, our own & that of those we love. I don't know about you, but I can feel the energy of a person when I am in the same room with them. Its a warm, electric-like & sometimes a magnetic feeling. Palm Springs, the Coachella Valley at large, is known around the world for mid century modern architecture. Of course we have a large variety of all types of incredible architecture but we will always have an affinity for #MCM style! Here is a great article on one of the iconic MCM architects: Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's International Style was the impetus for the midcentury modernism we know today. Thus, he's widely acknowledged as one of the 20th century's greatest archite...cts. With his glass-and-metal creations and his iconic Barcelona chair, Mies sought to establish a new architectural ethos that would represent modern times. His work was the cornerstone for the Museum of Modern Art's 1932 exhibition, "The International Style"curated by Philip Johnson and Henry-Russell Hitchcockwhich brought the modernist movement to a wider audience and solidified his role as a leader.
