Hike to the Palm Desert Cross

Unfortunately, a car was broken into (window smashed) Sunday morning while the occupants were hiking to the cross. It was parked where everybody else parks, at the north end of the road by the Homestead Trailhead. Please make sure you don't leave anything valuable visible in your car...even in broad daylight!

Desert X is back in the area of our favorite hike with this sculpture called "Dive-In." (The artists' description is attached to the first picture.) Post your own pics of you and your friends...it looks better with people in the photo to give the sculpture scale. But nobody was up early enough today!

Beautiful sunny morning today. Lots of hikers including this happy duo!

Fireworks last Saturday as seen from the cross. Stone Eagle was celebrating the opening of their season.
