Thank you for everyone showing up today! The Ocean brings down barriers and is the great equalizer of division. Love to all. Thank you @chrisraglandd for organizing and @posesawkwardly for capturing the moment. #sbpaddleout #blacklivesmatter
#Repost @chrisraglandd Dear Santa Barbara, with the help of my friends and family I’m organizing #paddleoutsb to bring my community together and honor death, celebrate life, and feel a part of a movement that affects us all. For most people the ocean is unchartered territory. In my experience the ocean isn’t a place. It’s a living breathing life force that doesn’t care about what you look like or what you have. It’s a neutral zone stuck in flux, forever changing. It doe...sn’t stop moving. The same goes for your participation in times like these. To me, meeting here is a statement that says you’re willing to show up PEACEFULLY and accept the challenges ahead. The purpose of this Saturday is not to feel guilt or privilege, but to realize that you have support and can contribute by holding up your end of the bargain in our society. This is the first step. Coming together to build trust and hold each other accountable. Please share. Everyone is welcome
