If you are looking for hair care that promotes a healthy scalp and hair growth, try Foundation Skin Care Untangled Hair Supplement paired with their Hair Serum. Untangled Hair Supplement works to increase the production of keratin found in hair follicles, and the Hair Serum helps stimulate the scalp to allow for hair growth. If you are struggling with hair loss or balding, we highly recommend scheduling an appointment with one of our Physicians, Physician Assistants or Nurse... Practitioners.. Hair loss has so many causes and the sooner you find the cause, the better your chance of getting the results you want. For other questions on product information and steps on how it is used, call our office at (916) 925-7020 to talk with our product specialist Nicole, or visit our website at Psiderm.com! #hair #hairsupplement #dermatology #healthyhair #healthyscalp #haircare #hairgoals #hairserum #hairgrowth #healthy #hairgrowth #hairgrowthproducts

Keratosis Pilaris is one the most asked-about conditions, and a very common condition, but difficult to treat. This is a condition that affects up to 20% of people (though the prevalence is rather hard to measure). Keratosis Pilaris is characterized by painless tiny bumps, typically on the upper arms, thighs, cheeks or buttocks. The area affected by KP is often accompanied by dry, rough skin along with the bumps. Unfortunately, while the appearance of KP can improve, it canno...t be cured. Treatment modalities that may help in reducing the appearance of KP include: -Salicylic acid wash -Moisturizers with lactic acid, aha and retinol -Chemical peels -Topical steroids -Lasers These treatments take consistency and time, but don't give up! While using these treatments, make sure to apply sunscreen because KP can cause sun sensitivity. Consult with a PSI dermatology provider to find a treatment tailored for you! #keratosispilaris #keratosispilaristreatment #dermatology #sacramentodermatology #skincare #medicaldermatology #skincaretips @ Sacramento, California

Today we raise awareness for World Psoriasis Day. In the United States, about 7.5 million people have this chronic disease. Even though there’s no cure, many treatments exist to ease the symptoms of #psoriasis. Here are 5 ways to manage the symptoms from home. 1Take dietary supplements - Dietary supplements may help ease psoriasis symptoms from the inside. Fish oil, vitamin D, milk thistle, aloe vera, Oregon grape, and evening primrose oil have all been reported to help ea...se mild symptoms of psoriasis. 2Reduce stress - Any chronic condition like psoriasis can be a source of stress, which in turn can worsen psoriasis symptoms. In addition to reducing stress whenever possible, consider incorporating stress-reducing practices such as yoga and meditation. 3Eat a healthy diet - Diet may play a role in managing psoriasis. Eliminating red meat, saturated fats, refined sugars, carbohydrates, and alcohol may help reduce flare-ups triggered by such foods. 4Prevent dry skin - Moisturizers for sensitive skin are also great at keeping your skin supple and preventing plaques from forming. 5Avoid fragrances - Most soaps and perfumes have dyes and other chemicals in them that may irritate your skin. They can make you smell great, but they also can inflame psoriasis. #thisispsoriasis #psoriasis #dermatology #worldpsoriasisday #2020 #skincare #awareness #sacramento #skincondition #skinconfidence #celebrate #sacramentodermatology #loveyourbody #loveyourskin #skintips

For widespread cases of Psoriasis, Eczema, and Vitiligo, we recommend trying Phototherapy. Phototherapy is a full body light treatment performed in a booth where your body is exposed to narrowband ultraviolet B based light. This allows the larger body surfaces areas which are affected to be treated at once. The treatment can range from a few seconds to several minutes. Typically, phototherapy is started at three times per week but then it may be decreased as your condition ...starts to improve. Ask your PSI dermatologist if phototherapy is the right treatment for your skin condition. We are open for Phototherapy services in the following locations: Sacramento: 7am-7pm Monday - Friday and 7:30am-1pm Saturday Folsom: 7am-3:30pm Monday - Friday Vacaville: 8am-5pm Monday - Friday #phototherapy #lighttreatment #vitiligo #excema #psoriasis #service #treatment #dermatology #acceptingnewpatients #sacramento #folsom #vacaville #skincare #skintreatment #skinhealth #loveyourskin #dermatologist #skintips #integrativemedicine #holistichealth

Here is a little reminder to remember that skin care should go beyond just our face. It is often easier to take care of our face since it is always exposed, however the whole body is equally as important to care for. Luckily, taking care of the skin on the rest of your body can be done similarly to the face. Here are some tips for maintaining healthy skin on areas that extend beyond just our faces. #skincare #skincarechecklist #skincareroutine #products #dermatology #wearspf #skincheck #shower #moisturize #skinexam #body #face #health #healthyliving #holistichealth #integrativemedicine

As the seasons change and the weather cools down, your skin may be affected by the shift. For instance, your skin might feel tight or appear drier than usual, or if you are acne-prone, pimples might be more inflammed than normal. According to dermatologists, these adverse changes in your skin can more than likely be attributed to the transition from the warm Summer months to the cool Fall and Winter months. The skin likes consistency, so when factors, like weather change r...apidly, it can be a shock to the system. A drop in temperature and more frequent wind gusts can cause the skin to work harder to maintain adequate hydration. Symptoms tend to occur because the skin barrier becomes disrupted during this period making it more susceptible to inflammation and irritation. The lifestyle changes that typically accompany the sudden switch in weather can exacerbate changes in your skin. Lifestyle changes may include taking hot showers or using central heating at home, contributing to the dryness and inflammation associated with seasonal transitions. Here are tips for how to take care of your skin during these transitions. 1.During seasonal changes from summer to winter, limit showers to no more than five minutes and avoid using hot water. 2.Apply moisturizer within 60 seconds of coming out of the shower. This allows the skin to lock in moisture. Use moisturizers that have ingredients like glycerin and hyaluronic acid. #seasonschange #seasonalchanges #skincare #skinandweather #hyaluronicacid #glycerin #sacramentodermatology #dermatology #consistency #skintips #fall #fallvibes #fallskincare #fallseason

Mindfulness is essentially paying attention and being present in the moment without judgment. When being mindful, we are focusing on the present moment not the past or future. Mindfulness also involves acceptance of ourselves. A good way to incorporate mindfulness into your day is during your skincare routine. 1. Be Present in the moment. Your cleansing, toning, and moisturizing ritual is something you have to do every day, but being mindful during the process can help mak...e it an act of self-love you enjoy rather than a monotonous ritual. In other words, being mindful allows you to notice what your skin needs from you that day, whether it's a massage, extra hydration, or an exfoliating mask. When you take the time to observe how your skin looks and feels, you’ll be able to treat it accordingly. 2. Slow it Down Also, take a bit of extra time to really massage each product into your skin. Doing this comes with a list of benefits. By simply slowing down what is typically thought of as a mundane routine and being more mindful, you will not only feel more present in the moment, but you’ll give your skin a deeper clean as well. #mindfulness #bepresent #bepresentinthemoment #practicemindfulness #mindfulnessinskincare #skincare #dermatology #integrativemedicine #holistichealth #holistichealing #holisticliving #dermatologytips #skincareroutine

Vitiligo is a condition that leads to loss of skin pigment in patches, affecting about 1% of the world’s population. It is NOT contagious or life threatening, but can have a tremendous psychological impact on a person. It is often considered an autoimmune condition, which results in reduced melanin from pigment-producing cells (melanocytes). People who have one autoimmune condition are at risk of having another, so it is important to consider and screen for other possible sym...ptoms. There is no cure for vitiligo, and patches may recur or become extensive but there are treatment options available for those who are interested. If you are someone with vitiligo and want to pursue treatment, we want to highlight the importance of treating new patches early. Treatment options include creams containing steroids or calcineurin inhibitors, UV phototherapy, camouflage makeup, and in certain cases lasers or surgery. Lastly, the lighter patches on the skin caused by vitiligo are more susceptible to sunburn, so it is very important to cover them with strong SPF with or without any form of treatment. #vitiligo #skincondition #medicaldermatology #treatment #dermatology #healthcare #skincare #skin #skincaretips #skinpigmentation
