The Float Your Boat project deploys a group of small wooden boat-hull shaped floats in the Artic to see where they end up. The boats are all deployed in a small cluster, typically arranged in letters naming the project or participating countries. A Pacific Gyre Universal Tracker is placed nearby to keep track of the cluster while they are still just sitting on the ice. Once the ice melts, the tracker and boats disperse and hopefully, are eventually found when they wash ashore somewhere. Boats have been found previously in places like Iceland and the UK. https://www.facebook.com/explorethearctic/
Sailing Ship Kwai Breaks Record as the Largest Ocean Clean-Up in History https://www.natureworldnews.com//sailing-ship-kwai-breaks-
Help remove floating death traps from the ocean. The Ocean Voyages Institute / Project Kaisei tags and recovers abandoned fishing drift nets that are floating in the ocean and killing turtles, dolphins and other ocean fauna. The Sailing Vessel Kwai is on the second leg of a recovery cruise to pick up these nets. On the first leg they recovered 100 tons of nets, and hope to do the same this time. At this point, they have embarked without any guarantee their expenses will be co...vered. Go to https://www.facebook.com/OceanVoyagesInstituteProjectKaisei/ and donate NOW.

Simply remove the magnet strap from your Smart CARTHE to turn it on. Forget about swiping a magnet and looking for a hard to see internal flashing LED.
The story talks about a new sensor Victoria is working on with her collaborator at East Carolina University. The picture is of Victoria, Al Roker and an assistant deploying a Pacific Gyre WARM buoy. The WARM buoy measures various light bands below the ice and transmits that data up the tether and through the Iridium satellite system back to Pacific Gyre data servers.
The Today Show from the Arctic: Starring Pacific Gyre customers Ignatius Rigor and Victoria Hill, and Dr. Hill's Pacific Gyre WARM buoy ... and Al Roker.
Victoria Hill will deploy a WARM buoy in the Arctic this weekend and NBC will be there.
This experiment includes Pacific Gyre Ice Tracker deployments. More Ice Tracker information at www.pacificgyre.com/ice-tracker.aspx.
Rest in peace Walter Munk.
