Our local @starbucks is near a middle school, and about 10 minutes before the rush of thirsty after-school middle schoolers stop in, the baristas prepare cups of water for them. This does two things: it makes the kids happy, and it reduces extra stress for the employees who have to make a bunch of drinks all at once. It’s brilliant! Now let’s apply this to communication: if you plan ahead and prepare talking points for meetings or tough conversations, you’ll not only make others happy, but you’ll reduce your own stress!
