This year marks 100 years of Russian exodus from Russia. In November of 1920 a massive group of Russian Army who fought in Crimea was evacuated. The Herald Wee...kend Magazine, published this article on October 14, 1979. This is from our archive. Sergei Sinkevich, was born in Kiev, he describes his escape from Soviet Union. His sister was married to Igor Sikorskiy and his brother was Anthony Arcbishop of Los Angeles. See more

Another picture from our archive. This one taken in front of the St. Transfiguration Church in Los Angeles. Few years after it was founded. Those on the picture... are founders of the parish. Front row: His Grace Tihon (Trotskiy) Archbishop of San Francisco and Western America with a rector Fr. Leonid Znamenskiy. Behind them (white suit) is George Blagoi he was a representative of Grand Duke Kirill Vladimirovich (Imperial Army and Navy) in Los Angeles and his wife. This picture is mid 1930s. Would be cool to identify some other people. See more
