Today is the start of our #CollegeBound Thursdays campaign! Each week, we will be highlighting a college that our Class of 2021 seniors may be calling home come Fall. First up is Cal State University, Northridge! CSUN was founded in 1958 in the heart of the San Fernando Valley. With a diverse student population of almost 40,000 students, CSUN offers a plethora of majors, clubs, and support services. C5LA is no stranger to CSUN. Three of our own staff members (Lou, Joy, & Miguel) are alum of the university. It's also where our largest C5 College Crew is located with 16 alumni currently enrolled. Congrats to all of our seniors who were recently accepted! You'll have a large C5 family on campus if you decide to attend. Weekly C5 recap - Fall has arrived and we continue going full steam with our virtual events, and supporting our #Leaders in their continued #learning. This week, our Sophomores from the Class of 2022 prepared for their Junior year with workshops including a visit from Yulia Korovikov, the Assistant Director of Columbia University in the City of New York Undergraduate Admissions, who provided some case studies to give Leaders an inside look into the #application review process... as a whole. Our Leaders' parents and guardians had their first-ever Parent Engagement Kick-Off event in which they learned a little more about the C5 scholarship, requirements, and how to best stay involved with their kids to help guarantee their success. Huge thank you to the parent ambassadors for leading the breakout sessions and serving as a source of contact for other parents to reach out to!
