This year, supporters like you made it possible for us to help over 800 families with their legal problems. One of those people was Marquesa, and her daughter Bles'sed. Nothing is more important to Marquesa than her family. So when her three-year-old daughter Bles’sed didn’t come home from school one day, she was terrified. Marquesa soon learned that her ex had taken Bles’sed and wouldn’t let her see her. Marquesa was devastated. She was panicked, fearful that she may never s...ee her daughter again. Then, Marquesa found Open Door Legal. We took on her case, and fought tooth and nail to get Bles’sed back. Thankfully, just before shelter in place began, we won Marquesa’s case. Bles’sed came home, and Marquesa finally felt whole again. Now, they can celebrate the holidays together in peace. Karen and her twin brother grew up surrounded by trauma and abuse. When Karen became pregnant, she vowed that she would build a different life for her future daughter. The question was how. Watch our final gala story, told by Karen herself.

Our second gala story is about an electrician and SF native named Keith who was almost forced out of the city that he holds so dear. With the help of Open Door Legal, Keith avoided wrongful eviction and is now able to continue living in his Bayview community.

Missed our gala? This coming week, we'll be sharing all three of the client stories we told across our social media. The first story we are highlighting is about a mom named Maria whose son Jose was almost torn away from her, and her journey to keep him in this country. With the help of Open Door Legal, Jose and Maria are able to continue living together in the United States.
