Both mini girls got their new @shires_equestrian fly masks today from @sandiegosaddlery of corse!! They fit both of them quite well I was worried that extra small pony would still be a bit big for them but nope! They both fit great and I’m so excited they have these mask this fly season! Despite the lack of enthusiasm on her face, Miss Coco is feeling much better!!! She’s beginning to be more normal and getting back to being sassy. She was body clipped to prevent her from getting overheated in the warm afternoons we’ve been having, hence how thrilled she looks. She’s utilizing the shade in her stall, eating, staying hydrated, and more regular poops (: in a few more days she will be back to prancing around with her pony friends. It’s been a long two weeks, wit...h a few scary moments, but it seems like we’ve made it. Thank you to everyone for all the lovely thoughts, prayers, and good vibes. Update on Miss Coco, she’s been slowly improving but this afternoon went downward. She spiked a fever and her heart was racing, and appetite disappeared. Thankfully the vet was out and was going to draw her blood to see how her levels were doing. She received another dose of banimine and was cold hosed until her fever broke. She has her appetite back and seems to be comfortable. She’s definitely not out of the woods and it seems like I’ve been on a roller coaster, but no one is giving up and every possible effort will be made for her. Hoping for improvement on her blood work and overall well being. Please keep sending positive vibes, thoughts and prayers her way.

Unfortunately, it is colic weather again and despite our best efforts to keep the horses healthy and happy, poor Coco came down with a bad case of colic. She was not improving at home even with multiple vet visits so we decided to take her to the equine hospital for further diagnosis and treatment. She was diagnosed after multiple tests/imaging with severe dehydration and quite a large impaction. She was given fluids at home and was not enough. She is now doing well and is no...t expected to need any colic surgery at this time. I’ll keep you all updated, but she will most likely be staying at the hospital for a few days of treatment/ observation before coming back home to her Amaretto who made sure to comfort her throughout the night and before leaving to the hospital Also miss moo had an episode earlier in the week also required tubing and fluids but was thankfully able to resolve at home. An update on coco this morning is that she still hasn’t pooped. She got tubed again last night and still no poop. The plus’s are she’s much more hydrated and comfortable for now. She will be tubed again today and hopefully we start to see poop come through. Send moving poop thoughts her way Be sure to keep any eye on your ponies in this crazy whether. Always hug and kiss your pony and appreciate the poop. I’m beyond thankful for the friends me and my horses have and was so amazing to see everyone come together and help out and support thank you to everyone who stayed around for poop watching and running fluids overnight, and provided food and company.
