Selling real estate to your friend and family could be a very bipolar experience. Asya was the girl on the other side of phone calls he used to make at ungodly hours because of a time difference between LA and Moscow. She was the reason Elhom asked me to move somewhere else for a brief amount of time when she came to visit him, and I'm glad I did. They have been together ever since, making one of the most adorable couples I know. Ten years is a long time, and I will lie if I told you that all of the immigrant stories I've seen develop ended up positively, but this one definitely did and I'm happy I had to play a small part in it.
