This December, while you are holiday shopping or getting take out in Old Town, enjoy a Horse Drawn Carriage ride to experience the festive spirit of Old Town! Rides will be available on Sundays the entire month from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Make a reservation at Library Park! Rides are free with any Old Town Business purchase of at least $20 or $5 per person! Receipt must be shown at check in and be dated the day of the ride. To ensure the safety of everyone, all safety guidelines will be followed, reservations will be required and space is limited. In the event of rain, rides will be canceled.

On Friday's, beginning at 5:00 p.m., the 400 block on Myrtle Avenue is extended onto our Old Town streets so restaurants can offer outdoor dining. UPDATE Due to poor air quality, the Friday Night Street Fair and the closure of the 400 Block on Myrtle for outdoor dining has been canceled tonight. According to the South Coast Air Quality Management Distrcits, the Bobcat Fire is producing substantial amounts of smoke and falling ash. The Monrovia area, including Old Town, will experience heavy smoke impacts. If you smell smoke or see ash due to the wildfire, please limit your exposure by: Remain indoors with wi...ndows and doors closed. Avoid vigorous physical activity. Run your air conditioner if you have one. Make sure if has a clean filter and that it is recirculating the indoor air to prevent bringing additional smoke inside. Create a clean air space in your home by using a portable air cleaner instead of or in addition to your air conditioner. Avoid using a whole-house fan or a swamp cooler with an outside air intake. Avoid using indoor or outdoor wood-burning appliances. Stay safe Old Town! See more

UPDATE: California Governor Newsom has announced that the following sectors in @countyofla must stop indoor operations: Offices for non-essential sectors Gyms & Fitness centers Personal care services, like nail salons, body waxing and tattoo parlors Hair salons and barbershops... Places of Worship Indoor Malls COVID-19 remains easily transmitted. Our community can continue to help slow the spread by wearing a face covering, washing our hands frequently, keeping six-feet from others, and not gathering in groups. See more
California Governor Newsom announced that the County of Los Angeles must close indoor business operations for the following sectors: Restaurants Bars (must close all operations - indoors and outdoors) Wineries and tasting rooms ... Movie theaters Family entertainment centers Zoos and museums Cardrooms These closures are effective immediately and will remain in place for at least 3 weeks. With these new restrictions in place, the Monrovia Old Town Advisory Board has called for an emergency meeting on Thursday, July 2, at 9:30 a.m., to discuss the order restricting indoor dining at restaurants.
