We made A LOT of art this week at Camp Super Duper Live! Today we practiced making patterns inside shapes and looked at art pieces made by Andy Warhol and Henri Matisse for inspiration! Yesterday we learned about Ámate painting from Mexico and made our own using paper grocery bags and water color paints. Here's a demonstration of our water cycle models from today! Using shaving cream, a clear glass, and food dye, we brought mini rain clouds into our own houses. Want to make this at home again? Gather a large clear glass of water, an additional small glass of water, blue food coloring (or any color if you want a wacky rainstorm), a pipet, syringe, or spoon, and some foaming shaving cream. 1. Add the coloring to your small glass and set aside. 2. Fill the top of your tall class... with shaving cream, creating a thick layer that resembles a cloud. 3. Use your syringe, pipet, or spoon to drip dots of the colored water all over your clouds. 4. Watch your glass closely and begin to see the coloring emerge from the clouds into your water! Ever wanted to have a raincloud in your house? No? Just me? Well...today at camp we made our very own water cycle simulations! This easy and educational model is made by applying a thick layer of shaving cream to a clear glass of water and dripping food coloring mixed with water on top!
