Happy New Year! From all of us at Orange County Judo Training Center

Hello Members and Friends, I hope this message finds you and your families safe and healthy. 2020 has been one of the most challenging years with COVID-19, business closures, economic pressure and curfew restrictions. During these trying times, we have had small classes when permitted by law and kept in contact with our membership through social media and our newsletter. We will continue to have classes when allowed with guidance from public health officials and government ag...encies. OCJTC would like to wish you a happy holiday and a joyful New Year. OC Judo Opens Monday, June 22, 2020

Yarden Gerbi - remains a star on whom the spotlight keeps shining. This time she competes in Survivor VIP beginning May 2nd. Check out this commercial. Awesome example of kuzushi near the end. Great to see her still competing with the intensity that made her World Champion and 2016 Olympic medalist. Hope we can watch this in the USA. Glad that OC Judo members, friends and coaches got to share the mat with her several times. Let her know you are cheering for her by liking this post. Update Coronavirus (COVID-19 virus) Hello OC Judo Members,... Out of an abundance of caution and in conjunction with protective measures set forth by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and OC Healthcare Agency, we at OC Judo are diligently working to keep our members informed with preventative protocols to minimize exposure and spread of COVID-19. Please follow the safety recommendations of your local Healthcare Agency and the CDC. We are planning to open and resume classes on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, unless the protective measures are extended by CDC and local Healthcare Agency. We are also making workout videos for our members with exercises and simple techniques you can practice at home. We will make them available as soon as possible. Hello OC Judo Members, Our top priority at OC Judo has always been the health and safety of our members. As COVID-19 continues to spread throughout the United States, concern for our member's welfare has grown. With travel restrictions, business & school closures, and the varying bans on gatherings and events are affecting our Judo community. Many Judo Clubs and fitness centers are cancelling classes and closing their clubs until April. OC Judo is following CDC recommendation...s and city officials and cancelling all classes and closing the dojo effective March 16, 2020 at 6:00 pm. We will open and resume classes on Wednesday, April 1, 2020. We are monitoring the situation daily and we will do our best keep you informed with any changes and updates. OC Judo Members: Judo Tournament this weekend was postponed. Please read memo from Oishi Sensei. Dear Taishi Judo Club Supporters,... This weekend’s Taishi Judo Club 9th Anniversary Tournament is now postponed due to the situation of the COV-19 virus. There were many levels to consider in making this decision. We have close to 300 competitors pre-registered as of yesterday. I am very grateful for the awesome support from the judo community. This would have been a great tournament. In the best interest of the safety of the community it is best that we postpone this tournament. Refunds will be sent out ASAP. Robert Oishi

Looking forward to the new Daria Bilodid documentary being released on March 25th. The judo community should welcome media exposure for the sport and the athletes who compete on the IJF World Tour. Mark your calendars! Also, huge congratulations to Daria for being named "2019 Athlete of the Year" by the main Sports Academy in the Ukraine.
