Governor Cooper has issued a Statewide Stay at Home Order. Land surveying is specifically named as an essential business. Please use this freedom with all caution for your safety and the safety of those you care about. However, you can rest a little easier this weekend.

Depending on where you live, there may be questions about the surveying profession and is it considered "essential services" and therefore exempt from shelter in place restrictions. Please read the following statement from NSPS and let us know if you have any questions.

We are working with the Luxor Hotel and our other service providers to determine an available date this fall when the COVID-19 outbreak will likely be over. The Orange County Board of Supervisors proclaimed the week of March 15th to 21st of 2020 as National Surveyors Week in the County of Orange. Kevin Hills as OC Surveyor, Jay Seymour as past State CLSA President, and Rich Maher as current President of the OC Chapter of CLSA were present to receive the proclamation and speak a few words.
