In Part 2 of the Oak Park Ice Rink's Chilling Equipment Replacement, we see the removal of the building's 3 original 1969/1970 chillers (only one worked when we closed), the cooling tower outside, and the digging out of the rink floor. Almost everything that is removed has been there since the original construction of the rink. What's left is room for a shiny new chiller and cooling tower, and a rink floor that is 12 inches or so deeper than when you saw it last.
Oak Park Ice Rink will remain closed until further notice. The health and safety of our guests and employees remain a priority as we manage through these unprecedented times. Please continue to refer to our website, oakparkicerink.com, and social media pages for continued updates. Stay safe!
