From the archive: Suki O’Kane performing Sweeping, Swept, Out of My Head for Shapeshifters Cinema on July 10, 2016. In this performance, she used a broom and ...a custom-built sensor pad to literally sweep overwhelming and unwelcome imagery out of her subconscious. The image dissipated only as long as she was sweeping, leaving her in an infinitely unfulfillable pursuit fueled by existential anxiety, much like her cultural hero Samuel Becket. We have 19 days left on our campaign and we are only about a third of the way to our (some might say insanely lofty) fundraising goal. So we are going to spend some time unpacking some of the glorious moments that have happened at Shapeshifters Cinema during the first 7 1/2 years of our existence.
