While isolated rain/snow showers and thunderstorms are forecast tomorrow in the mountains, expect mostly dry and breezy conditions in the Sacramento Valley. (Best opportunity for an isolated shower in the Valley would be in the far northern Sacramento Valley). As always, be sure to practice fire safety and avoid using equipment that can create sparks.
In addition to snow shower chances in the mountains tomorrow, can't rule out the slight chance of a thunderstorm (or thundersnow at certain elevations). If you have hiking, camping, outdoor plans in the mountains, be weather-aware: when thunder roars, go indoors!
Cooler temperatures return to interior NorCal today through the end of the week as a weather system moves through the area. Temperatures will warm back up to near normal by early next week.

So what do meteorologists do in quiet weather? One thing is provide maintenance for our network of weather stations spread across our area (over 90!) Each station needs to be checked & cleaned, sometimes recalibrated or repaired. Sometimes there are hazards like wasp nests!
